At week 37, my pregnancy is considered full term, meaning Hayden is likely to thrive after birth. He will be spending these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. We all know he's already got "kicking" down. Meconium, which Daddy will probably find in Hayden's first diaper when he changes it, is accumulating in his intestines. I was reading on birth from babies' perspective and found an interesting piece of trivia...most women worry about giving birth, without considering the experience through babies' eyes ( O I don't know, something about feeling like our uterus has become a ticking bomb that explodes every minute or so during the whole ordeal might distract us from that a little). ANYWAY... during the journey out of the womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life. Hmmmm....interesting. I'll think about that while I'm wretching with pain.
So...he is due. He can get here any day...because seriously....I'm aching. AND the nursery is done...well as done as it's going to be! I decided against painting the stripes...mostly because, well....my body is just too tired to go through that right now. I still have some things I want to accumulate to put in here for storage and to add some texture, and liven up the empty spaces on the wall, but since the child is only going to occupy this room half the time over the next year for naps while we go about our daily business on the first floor of the house, I'm not going to get all psycho about it. I'll do that when I move him upstairs into Nolan's room, and move Nolan downstairs to this room.

The nursery looks GREAT!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed that he makes a speedy entrance.
Hugs!
Beautiful nursery!
