Okay...so I'm nesting. Isn't it a little early to be nesting? Good lord. I've made dinner for Adam four nights in a row. I've been researching (if you haven't noticed my blog list) on frugality, and how to continue to decorate our home, and cook for our family, and shop and still have money in the bank to do all the cool things we like to do. I say this after my baby shopping spree of course :).
Can I just say also, that I am completely enamored with decorating all the sudden. I guess I always kind of have been, but I could never completely come to my home looking the way I want it to. I have decorating ADD. I decide on one thing. Then I see something else and I'm like "Ewwwwwww, I LOVE that!" And then I'm a whirling dirvish of painting and repurposing and redecorating....o it's just ridiculous! I have so much fun with it though. I think I must have been an interior designer in another life. Either that or I should really just take up real estate and staging or something. I dunno. I'm just crazy and fanatical about it.
Just when I had semi finished painting one area of our house...my decorating ADD happened again today! I walked into a dentists office with one of my reps and they had this BEAUTIFUL blue/chocolate scheme. Yeah, I know, blue and chocolate is so overdone, and sooooo two thousand and late, but this, this was stunning. I was so inspired! They had some blue irridescent curtains, and some brown irridescent curtains with big blue embroidered circles (I'm obsessed with circles, too...don't know why, but I am, and robin egg blue walls, highlighted by this granite and tile and dark shaggy, glossy chocolate rug.....ahhhhh....I was in heaven. Just explaining it does not do this place justice! I was enamored though, is all I can say (trying to think of ways I can snap some pics the next time I'm in there without looking like a big goof! After all this is one of my clients!
So tonight I have been on this mad hunt for pictures that capture the same look. Looking around at all the walls that are surrounding me thinking of ways I can recreate it, but yet compliment our house. I need help...is there a psychologist for this disease?
chocolate goes so well with so many other colors. People are always so afraid to decorate in browns and I could never understand why. I love brown. I really dig the whole pink and brown thing.
