Hayden gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, I should really think about what I want Hayden to eat as I prepare my own lunch.
I guess that will be apples and peanut butter, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Baby Carrots, Grape tomatoes, and ranch dip. I've had an incredible urge to eat veggies and fruits lately. The crisper the better. Adam made steaks the other night and I still have a little bit of aversion to meat apparently because it just looked and smelled disgusting to me. Everyone else was completely pleased that I turned my nose up at my portion and they split it up amongst themselves. Rock on with your bad meat eating selves. I was very happy with my tossed salad, thank you!
Adam had his need to feel kicking satisfied last night. We were laying in bed and Hayden was playing football with my bladder....so I reached over and grabbed Adam's hand and placed it directly above Hayden's "target". All Adam could say was "whoa...."
I think it's starting to hit home that in 4 very short months there is going to be a fourth set of lungs in this household as he sheepishly asked me the other day "what all do we need to get for him?"
